Hi, My name is Rosemarie Whitehead. I am a WAHM, with 3 delightful, now healthy children and a most tolerant husband.
At the beginning of 2006 I decided that my career as a nurse would be placed on hold, due to increasing family commitments. As I always have been interested in healthy living and enjoy my time preparing food for my family and friends, I investigated the idea of sharing my experiences with others.
I hope you enjoy reading my articles on healthy eating and the future ones to come. I will also be publishing an ebook of healthy recipes in the near future.
Here you will find tips on how to eat healthy
Another aspect to attain and maintain a healthy lifestyle is to eat healthy. One must have well balanced healthy meals.
Our diet should consist of a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables and minimally processed foods.
Fresh fruit and vegetables are rich in vitamins and minerals, essential fats and fiber as well as phytochemicals and are ideal for healthy eating. The therapeutic value of fresh, preferably organic, nutrient packed foods will help towards life-long health and vitality.
Before you commence your healthy eating plan please read my 10 tips for healthy eating.Welcome to a Healthy Lifestyle
My aim is to provide you with interesting and everyday principles for a healthy lifestyle.
The following are easy and simple tips for healthy eating.
1. Health check-up prior to commencing healthy eating program
Visit your Doctor for a full medical prior to commencing any weight loss or detoxifying program. Underlying health problems could be the cause of your weight gain, lethargy and general aches and pain. An under active thyroid which slows metabolism can lead to weight gain. Certain medications, such as antidepressants can also attribute to an increase in weight. Obesity may not be caused by un-healthy eating.
The health check will provide you with an accurate baseline for healthy eating and as an indication of vitamins and minerals missing from your food consumption as well as those that need to be reduced, such as fatty acids.
Poor eating habits and excess weight can lead to obesity, which in turn may cause hypertension, diabetes and asthma.
Your Doctor may refer you to a dietician, who can help formulate a healthy eating plan for your requirements.
2. 2 day detox prior to healthy eating
If you are overweight and feeling generally tired and sluggish, rejuvenate yourself by following this healthy recipe of raw fruit juice and vegetable soup. This will prepare your body for eating healthy foods.
This health detoxing plan should be followed once a month to cleanse your body. It will get rid of any accumulated toxins in your liver, bowel and lymphatic system. Also you are more likely to follow your healthy eating plan.
Drinking warm to hot water with lemon juice added, upon rising and before anything else is ingested, also assists in ridding your body of the toxins that have accumulated overnight. Himalayan goji juice also assists in alkalizing your body by fighting free radicals and acting as a detoxification drink.

To maintain a healthy lifestyle eat 6 small regular meals a day. The meals should be at least 2 hours apart. This will assist in maintaining your blood sugar levels and decrease the likelihood of sugar cravings as well as promote healthy eating habits..
Otherwise eat 3 regular meals with a healthy snack in between.
